BBQ Grilled Chicken
Juicy chicken made tastier with Redneck Riviera 1776 BBQ by John Rich and Red Gold Tomatoes. Fire up the grill and get ready to take your grilled chicken to a whole new level!
6-8 chicken drumbsticksSalt and black pepper to taste
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Pat dry chicken drumsticks with paper towels and season with salt and pepper; add other seasoning you like (creole, seasoned salt, chicken rub, etc.). Let chicken rest to come to room temperature, about 20-30 minutes.
- Place chicken on the grill, keeping space between the legs to get the crispiest skin. Flip every 10 or so minutes and cook until chicken reaches 165° F using an instant read thermometer; about 20-30 minutes. We check the temperature at the halfway point to make sure we don't overcook the chicken.
- In the last 5 to 10 minutes of cooking, baste the chicken with the 1776 BBQ Sauce. If you can move to an indirect heat, move the chicken or you can turn the grill down slightly. This keeps the BBQ sauce from burning (there's real sugar in that sauce!) and lets the sauce caramelize and get a little sticky - yum! Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before serving.
